Customize Sharepoint Alerts

Question

My customer has sbs 2003 with their own intranet site.

I would like to include more detail in the sharepoint alerts.

What happens now is the alert includes the title(which is a link) the name
of the person who added it and the date/time.

I would like to add the description field to the email so the link does not
need to be followed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

You could refer to this post:

From here, you can add specific fields into the alert.

Hi,

I would suggest that Glenn's answer is more specific to resolving the requirement.  Leeji SharePoint Boost isn't always the answer.

Thanks Mike.  Had the same in the UK SharePoint User Group with SharePoint Boost.  Going to give the company a bad rep, if they haven't already.

Don't worry. I've deleted all the ones that were in the SP forums. (I have no delete rights in the newsgroups, though) 

There were two in other forums I couldn't touch so I posted a warning reply in those threads.   

But if anyone sees any more posted by a new name - feel free to e-mail me at my hotmail address which is englantilainen (Finnish for englishman for curious people.)
