LDAP (Non AD) - .NET 2.0 Authentication help RRS feed

    Hi all,

I managed to configure my .NET 2.0 application to authentication with the Active Directory by using the instruction here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnpag2/html/paght000026.asp

However, Right now i would like to change the authentication to a third party LDAP vendor, and I have no idea how to do that. There seems to be no such documentation from Microsoft to do that as well.

Can anyone please enlighten me on what modification I would need to make to my current connection set up to authenticate it with a third party, non AD LDAP server?

    Thanks!

Hmm.... I am pretty sure that the built-in ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider does not support 3rd party directories.  You would have to write your own membership provider to use the provider framework, or work outside the membership framework with your own Authentication component.
