Problem with Neighborhood in Bing Maps which feeds to Zillow, etc. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Zillow and Trulia and Realtor.com are using Bing Maps for our real estate listing for 8338 Strawberry Lane Charlotte, NC 28277.

The neighborhood is incorrect.  This is a BIG ISSUE.  They say we are in Raintree-we are not.  We are in Rosecliff---big difference.

Please correct.  You can see if you go to Google Maps and you can see our house with the Rosecliff sign in our yard.

I can also provide our deed which states we are in Rosecliff Neighborhood.

Please fix this ASAP---it is affecting our showings, etc. for the sale of our home. (Up for sale NOW)

You can reach me at bdsmith@carolina.rr.com

    Thank you,

    Brenda

  • Actually, they don't use Bing Maps neighborhood data, but Zillow's data here:

    https://www.zillow.com/howto/api/neighborhood-boundaries.htm

I believe their boundaries are based on past listings of homes.

Note that neighborhood boundaries are not well defined boundaries and are usually opinion based. For example, I live right near an edge of one neighborhood and people on either side of the boundary often say they are in one or the other, but it is never consistent.
