backuplist 'name' not allowed in vs 2010 app.config RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using VS 2010 .NET 4.0 and attempting to modify the app.config file in my TEST project as follows:

    <configuration>
        <system.serviceModel>
          <behaviors>...</behaviors>
          <bindings>...</bindings>
          <client>...</client>
          <diagnostics>...</diagnostics>
          <routing>
            <backupLists>
              <backupList name="BackupList1" >
                <add endpointName="EchoSoapHttpBinding1"/>
                <add endpointName="EchoSoapHttpBinding2"/>
              </backupList>
            </backupLists>
          </routing>
        </system.serviceModel>
      <system.diagnostics>
        <sources>...</sources>
        <sharedListeners>...</sharedListeners>
        <trace autoflush="true" />
      </system.diagnostics>
    </configuration>

    VS keeps telling me that the name attribute in <backupList> is not allowed.
    Everything else is accepted fine by VS.  Do I need an additional reference to my project or something?

  • Hi,

    It is strange, because the backuplist has the name attribute:

    For more information, please try to refer to:
    #backupList:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee816906(v=vs.110).aspx .

    Please try to delete the whole backuplist, then write it again to see if it help.

  • I'm trying to setup a backupList in my app.config file in the TEST project I'm working on.  I keep getting a warning message in VS 2010 .NET 4.0 that 'name' is not allowed.

    <configuration>
        <system.serviceModel>
          <behaviors>...</behaviors>

          <bindings>...</bindings>

          <client>...</client>

          <diagnostics>...</diagnostics>

          <routing>
            <backupLists>
              <backupList name="BackupList1" >
                <add endpointName="EchoSoapHttpBinding1"/>
                <add endpointName="EchoSoapHttpBinding2"/>
              </backupList>
            </backupLists>
          </routing>

        </system.serviceModel>

      <system.diagnostics>
        <sources>...</sources>

        <sharedListeners>...</sharedListeners>

        <trace autoflush="true" />

      </system.diagnostics>

    </configuration>

    What am I missing here? Do I need to add a reference to the project or something?
