Is there a componentized version of Windows Server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a version of Windows Server 2008 that is componentized like WES?  I found something called "Windows Embedded Server" here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/evaluate/windows-embedded-server.aspx), but when I downloaded and ran it, it just seemed to be the standard server RTM.  What makes it "embedded" I was unable to discover.  I asked this question in the server forum and was pointed back here.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks,

  • There is no componentized version of Windows Server. As KNARZ pointed out it is just a different license agreement for dedicated systems.
