    Hello.

I was woundering to order a book from Amazon, to start learning ASP.NET by a book, withc should be much easyer, than chearching everything from internet. I am doubting about 2 books, that i could order. I have a really small experience with ASP.NET, so maybe someone, who has one of the books, could tell, how good is that book for a beginner.

This seems to be really reasonable order to learn, but don't you have any of those books?

    @ Taurib

I'm not sure why you picked those three books.

Also, you're a beginner does not give us enough information.

Are you a beginner at programming?  at c#?  at asp.net?   all of these?

What are your learning goals?  to be a hobby programmer?  a working professional programmer?  et cetera

if I were you, and i were a beginner, i might start with online training from learnvisualstudio.net instead of buying a book or all three of the books that you''ve mentioned.  http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/

at http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/, you can start learning for free ... sign up with your e-mail address and you'll get a few sample lessons to get you started.  http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/ has a sale on at the moment ... one year $52.50, lifetime $140.  With the lifetime membership, you can ask the instructor questions about the video lessons:  http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/buy-now/.

Disclaimer:  my association with http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/ is that I am a satisfied customer.

Regarding books, please see my comments at http://forums.asp.net/t/1713617.aspx/1?What+are+the+three+best+book+to+learn+c+.

ACM ... http://learning.acm.org/index.cfm as a professional member US$99 per your, you get access to hundreds of books and thousands of online computing and business courses, including:

http://acm.books24x7.com/toc.asp?bkid=35573 the Mathew MacDonald book ... Mathew MacDonald is an excellent writer.  http://www.amazon.com/Pro-ASP-NET-4-C-2010/dp/1430225297/

Dino Esposito is a fantastic writer however, I'm biased towards ASP.NET MVC 3; there are excellent learning materials here at asp.net, see this thread:  http://forums.asp.net/t/1713512.aspx/1?How+can+I+start+Mvc+in+asp+net.  I am going to buy this book for ASP.NET MVC 3 (I own the MVC 2 version):  http://www.amazon.com/Pro-ASP-NET-MVC-3-Framework/dp/1430234040.  Steven Sanderson is another excellent author.

read this:   Rob Connery's "I Spose I’ll Just Say It: You Should Learn MVC"
    at http://blog.wekeroad.com/blog/i-spose-ill-just-say-it-you-should-learn-mvc/.

I do not know the Imar Spaanjaars' book.

Also, you'll want the free tool LINQPad:  http://linqpad.net/  LINQPad is a programmer's scratch pad for c#, T-SQL (a.k.a. MS SQL), et cetera.

    Thank you for this answer.

I am beginner in ASP.NET and basicly i could say even in C#, i have done copple programms in C#, yet these are nothing compearing, that what i could do.

Point with the book is that, that i like to learn from the books, it is much easyer to keep an eye in book and then write something in computer, than look bouth in computer and then switch between windowses.

But the video torturials aren't bad idea also, and the opportunity to ask from instructurs sound also really nice.

Atm i am programming for my fun, as a hobbie. Tring to find something else to do in computer, than just play games. But i am also tring to learn that as well as i can do go and learn more in some IT school, to maybe even come proffesional programmer in ASP.NET and C#.

Also this book, what you suggested was 1 of my thinking points, but i didn't want to choose it because it seems to be for programmers, that have a little experience in programming ASP.NET and C#. But i may be wrong.

    Thank you for your answer.

Taurib, ideally, a developer should have at least two monitors*.  for a professional developer, the second monitor will pay for itself in less than six months because of the increased productivity.
       * http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2004/06/multiple-monitors-and-productivity.html

if you can afford a second monitor, you will not need to ALT+TAB as often.

I like books too ... I can highlight them, write margin notes, have many bookmarks (I use sticky notes, a.k.a. Post-it notes) and I can read them anywhere ...

Videos are also helpful.  With one monitor, switching back and forth is time consuming but still worth the time.  Also, if you are lucky enough to have two computers, you can watch the video on one computer and work along with the video on your other computer.

TIMTOWTDI  =.  there is more than one way to do it

But the video turtorials aren't bad idea also, and the opportunity to ask from instructurs sound also really nice.

The ask the instructors part is with the lifetime membership only AFAIK ... http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/buy-now/.

Nevertheless, try the free introductory lessons to see how you like them.  imho, the lifetime membership is a good deal because learnvisualstudio.net, from my experience, is always adding new material.  Of course, it also depends, as with everything else, how much one can afford to spend.

Also this book, what you suggested was 1 of my thinking points, but i didn't want to choose it because it seems to be for programmers, that have a little experience in programming ASP.NET and C#. But i may be wrong.

    What book is "this book"?

But at the moment you also maybe bit disunderstood me, because i was thingking about starting to learn from ASP.NET, what has C# and VB in it. I would like to learn before little bit of we programming to do a nice homepage for myself and that i could add my material to there (i'd like to do this as somekind of cloud system [No idea, how this works should work yet :P]).

Well i have laptop, what is connected to seperate monitor. I haven't thinked about that, that is it blausible to make make them display different images.

I have seen copple of those vids and these seem to be really interesting to listen :) But this is really much money for me to pay, because my familys economy isn't that good atm.

The Book was http://www.amazon.com/Pro-ASP-NET-4-C-2010/dp/1430225297/   But as i saied before, i would like to start with ASP.NET

Yes, sadly, money does not grow on trees.

Your laptiop with the second monitor will be very useful to you.

My personal recommendation:  start was ASP.NET MVC here:  http://www.asp.net/mvc  You will learn a lot if you do everything on the http://www.asp.net/mvc page ... watch the videos, do the tutorials.  Use the forums MVC and C# if you get stuck.

do read this:   Rob Connery's "I Spose I’ll Just Say It: You Should Learn MVC"
    at http://blog.wekeroad.com/blog/i-spose-ill-just-say-it-you-should-learn-mvc/.

Until you've mastered c#, I recommend that you avoid VB.

For HTML, CSS, XML, and other Internet skills that you need, do use the free online tutorials here:  http://www.w3schools.com/.

Best of Luck with your learning.

Also, maybe you could tell me the keyword, that how could i look for this, how i could make my two screen show different displays, because i don't have any idea atm, that how to look for it.

    My pleasure; you're welcome.

For all laptops that I've seen, you use your keyboard.  On mine, I use the special function key Fn plus my F5 key ... your laptop may be different but if you look at the images on your key, you might see something that looks like this:  [ ] | [ ]  on my keyboard that image is under the letters F5.

If that does not work for you, search for the make and/or model number of your computer plus "External Monitor".  That should get you to your computer manufacturer's website.
