SA password is getting reset frequently. RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    Whenever i restart my server the password SA(from which i login to SQL Server 2008 R2)get's reset and i again have to reset the same. pls do help

  • Make sure Enforce Password Policy is not enabled.

    If you use TSQL to reset then use with CHECK_POLICY = OFF.

    ALTER LOGIN [sa] WITH PASSWORD='newpassword', CHECK_POLICY=OFF

    Note: CHECK_POLICY=OFF ensures that Windows password policies of the computer on which SQL Server is running will NOT be enforced on sa login
