Expression Blend 4 crash RRS feed

  • Question

  • Blend 4 allways crash if I click on the + button to add a new Storyboard.

    The exception says:

    ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.

    StackTrace:

    at MS.Internal.XcpImport.MethodEx(IntPtr, ptr, String name, CValue[] cvData)

    at MS.Internal.XcpImport.MethodEx(DependencyObject obj, String name)

    at MS.Internal.XcpImport.UIElement_UpdateLayout(UIElement element)

  • Could you run Blend.exe with the /ExceptionLog flag and post the results of the crash here?

  • I did run it with the flag but I can't find the log.

    Where is it supposed to be?

  • Hmm, it should pop up an instance of notepad with the crash log after the crash. If that doesn't work, it should have created a temp file in your temp path with a .TMP extension, you could look there for a file created with the correct timestamp.  You might also double check the spelling of /ExceptionLog.

  • I don't have a pop up, no TMP file either, and I double checked the /ExceptionLog flag also.

    Still no luck
