Windows 7 disk managemet RRS feed

  • Question

  • My other laptop suffered a fall and a harddrive crash. It now says no OS found when I boot. I ran Spinright on it because i did not have a windows 7 repair disk with me. Spinright says the disk is fine. I thin plugged it into my other laptop via a disk enclosure. Windows recognises the backup / storage  partition on it, but the C:/ OS partition is not showing up in my disk management. I think it is because the drive letter was the same on my broken laptop?  Is there some way I can get windows to show that partition and allow my to access the files on it? Is this a windows security feature?

    Please help

    ..Thanks

  • do you see the Partition (without drive letter) at least in the graphic within for the disk? (bottom from diskmgmt.msc)

if yes, than you can assign a letter with right click.
