Link Outlook emails with Access using VBA RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I want to create a live Access database file that gets automatically updated whenever an email is received, deleted, or the category (the color-coding feature in Outlook) changes.

    I tried the Linked Table feature under the External Data ribbon available in Access, and it ALMOST does what I need, except the absence of the "Categories" field.

    I have read some forums online saying that the only way to get the "Categories" field is to use VBA.

    Can you please help me carry out this task?

    I want to have all the existing fields that gets carried over when I do the Linked Table (such as Subject, Body, FromName, FromAddress, etc.) with the addition of the "Categories" field to see what color a certain email was tagged as.
