I mean to say like when we are creating any light weight process/application then do we consider any design pattern in our mind or in other way are some design patterns has limitation that the required some lengthy or heavy process ?

  • Design patterns are used regardless of the weight of the process being used. Patterns provide a way of organizing code for logical seperation of the tasks at hand for reuse, maintenance and other OO principles.

The cost of using patterns is that more development time will need to go into their creation; but the pay off in terms of reuse and maintance has to be judged at the time.

With that said, I always use paterns regardless of whether I am writing a perl script or a large C# Line of Business application.
