Misterious Numbers being displayed in upper left and right corners of the screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I'm using one of the Windows 8.1 samples demonstrating the grid capabilities.  It is showing two set of 3-digit numbers on both the top-left and top-right of the app screen when it's running, I can't find any reference to them in the XAML.  Anybody have any ideas what this is and how to remove it?

  • It's the frame counter turned on by the following code snippet in your App.xaml.cs:

    #if DEBUG
                if (System.Diagnostics.Debugger.IsAttached)
                {
                    this.DebugSettings.EnableFrameRateCounter = true;
                }
    #endif

    The feature was in Windows 8 as well, but the templates didn't turn it on by default.

  • Hi,

    After your apps has shutdown, how do you turn them off?  Right clicking them only shows the Contect Menu of either a App or Desktop that's behind it.

    Thanks!...

  • Cancel that!  I didn't stop the debugging from the IDE.  I thought this would be done automatically when I closed down the App.
