Orchestration - Helper Class - SQL Server Security Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an orchestration that calls a .net helper class, which in turn needs to execute a stored proc on a SQL Server box that is not on the same server as Biztalk.  With regards to authenticating/authorizing into the SQL Server:

should I use windows integrated or SQL Security?

if integrated, am I correct that it not who I am logged in as currently, but one of the Biztalk accounts that needs permission on the SQL Server?  If so, which one(s)?

Thanks for any and all help... Mike

  • Hi,

Either way you need to give the account execute permission on stored-procedure and the account should only have appropriate right in SQL Server database. If integrated security is used than it should be the account of the host instance that your orchestration is running under.
