Blend doesn't show live preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I just installed Visual Studio 2012 for developing Windows 8 apps. I was trying out Blend and noticed it doesn't show the live preview and gives an error. What's the problem? I have attached a screenshot. Please help :)

I have clicked 'Reload' as well but it doesn't help. I'm on Windows 8 Pro

  • Anything in the Event Log?

Are you able to build and run your app?

Yes, I can build and run the app. Which log do I see in the event viewer? There are so many!

  • Make sure you have all Windows Updates installed.

If that doesn't help, try repairing\reinstalling.

  • All updates are installed. I have repaired/uninstalled and reinstalled at least 3-4 times now. Even Update 1 has been installed. It used to work before. But then, I had to reinstall Windows 8 and after the reinstall it has stopped working. Any other fix? I am trying to learn to make Windows 8 apps from the Programming Windows 8 apps book and a lot of the initial thing is in Blend. What do I do now? I have hit a barrier sort of

  • Ok I found this error now. It says wwahost (which is related to Metro apps isn't it?) but anyways I'm pasting it here.

  • This actually seems to be related to Blend. Blend's designer uses WWAHost, and killing WWAHost results in the screenshot you have posted.

  • Nothing really. What should I do? Any other solution other than reinstalling Windows? I installed on Friday!

  • Pratyush, were you able to get this figured out at all? Please let me know.
