Available projects in Portfolio Analysis even after optimization selection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have developed custom workflow in VS2010 for Portfolio Analysis optimization. I am not using Planner at all. However if project is not selected then it is available for next portfolio analysis. I have incorporated this in While activity.

My question is even if the project is selected during optimization and moved to next stage, it is still available for Portfolio Analysis in Available projects on front end.

Is it like that only or I do have to code as to not be available in Portfolio Analysis after selected once.

    Appreciate any help.

  • Hi Dipti

For what i am getting from your question is , please feel free to add if i have missed out anything, you are getting projects even if they are not selected in first stage,
by default it works that way, as the selected projects are based on views & by default there is only 1 summary view available for both Portfolio Analysis & Portfolio Analysis project selection
you might want to put a filter for filtering out projects which have already moved out,

Reason for making those projects still available lies in the basic question wherein you analyze(apart from new ones) existing projects as well for
which project needs refunding, which project needs resourcing, which project needs to be killed & to analyze all the information & comparison against
all projects(including active) rescheduling is at some future point in time you might want to consider even to kill an existing project irrespective of which phase it is

Let me know, if this helps

  • My question was I am getting projects as available after the projects are committed and moved forward to the next Monitoring stage. Though your explanation makes sense. But I can filter the selection according in 'Portfolio Analysis project selection'.
