Naming app tiles Square70x70Logo.scale-100.png

    Question

  • I have created all scaled versions of the visual assets required as app tiles, for my Windows 8.1 app.

These images have been named appropriately and been copied into my Assets folder. When included in my project, all these images have been automatically detected and show up in the package manifest.

For some reason, the Square70x70 image alone does not seem to be detected. Is there an error in my naming convention?

I have named the 4 tiles so:-

    Square70x70Logo.scale-100.png

    Square70x70Logo.scale-140.png

    Square70x70Logo.scale-180.png

    Square70x70Logo.scale-80.png

I have used the naming convention here and the image sizes are correct to: http://mdesignhelp.commontime.com/index.html?ct_windows_tablet.htm

  • You need to go to your appxmanifest and set the Square70x70 logo on the Visual Assets pane.

The name of the tile is up to you. The others weren't automatically detected, it's just that you used the same names as the default template so they were automatically populated. You can change this in the manifest designer to whatever you'd like.
