SharePoint 2013 User Profile Service - AD Import

Question
-
Hello,
We recently migrated SharePoint 2013 farm to Azure. We decided to use the AD Import for User profile service. We have some custom properties used for our MySites to display templates based on the organization the employee works for.
I would like to know if I run a full sync, what are the ramifications? Will all the MySites go back to using the default templates?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Rajashree

Hi Rajashree,
My site won’t go back to using the default templates.
Profile Synchronization in SharePoint Server 2013 is to synchronize user and group profile information that is stored in the SharePoint Server 2013 profile store with profile information that is stored in directory services and business systems across the enterprise.

Full Sync does just that - syncs all properties with Active Directory to the UPA. The UPA isn't directly involved in MySites (MySites just displays the values from the UPA).
