Duplicate Connections Strings in XSD file corrupt Dataset editing. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I regularly get an error message when editing my XSD file. I've found out myself that it is because of duplicate entries in the XSD file for the Connections tag.

The following Post exactly tells what's going on: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=105616&SiteID=1

Everyone in that thread is happy with the discovery and so am I. What I would like to know is how and when this problem is happening and if there's a resolution for it (can I prevent it from happening?).

What I know is that with me it is happening every time I add a Table to the Dataset. Although I never get confirmation of the Editor that an extra connectionstring has been added, it does.
I am able to add the table, configure it even add extra queries and save it to disk. But I never can reenter without editing the XSD file with the XML Editor directly.
