How to enroll a windows embedded handled device wifi only (no IMEI) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a device without WWAN capability and i try to enroll it on a MDM server.

On the server, the only query i have are :

    2016-04-07 13:04:07 192.168.100.228 POST /EnrollmentServer/DeviceEnrollmentWebService.svc - 443 - 192.168.100.254 Windows+Phone+8+Enrollment+Client 200 0 0 2357 1893 31
    2016-04-07 13:04:08 192.168.100.228 POST /EnrollmentServer/CertificateEnrollmentWebService.svc - 443 - 192.168.100.254 Windows+Phone+8+Enrollment+Client 200 0 0 23354 3240 515

But after the enrollment, i don't have the queries on windowsphone.ashx as i have on the same device with WWAN.

Is it because the device doesn't have an IMEI number and that it can't construct the payload for the queries (for example <LocURI>IMEI:xxxxxxxxxxx</LocURI>) ?

Should it not to send the Wifi mac address instead ?

Is there any log on the device i can inspect ?

    Thanks for help.

  • Finaly, i found the solution, just don't set the node "USEHWDEVID" in the enrollment response from the server because if the device doesn't have any IMEI, it doesn't send anything to synchronize. Removing the node tells the device to send a guid as identifier.
