Getting hardware info of a network machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

First, sorry if it's an off topic here. Too many forums, but I think this is the most related with the question.

I build a lock for a software I´m developing. It´s based on various hardware IDs. But I want the client to be able to run it from a place in the network, not from the local machine of each user.

Here came the problem. The lock is working perfectly, but only for local machines, because it gets the ID off the machine running the app, not the machine where it´s saved.

So, even if the app is on network, when I create a license based on the given ID, this license works for this machine only.

I would like to validade the license based on any unique info on the machine where the exe is placed.

So, is there any way of accessing hardware ids of a machine over the network?

    Thanks in advance...

  • Maybe using windows management instrumentation will enable you to programatically query database of windows objects and determine network location through server?
