Master Project Calculation Error - Unable to Disable Calculation Using VBA for Master Project File following CU update RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Project Server 2013 installation where we have had VBA macro performing a calculation and storing the result in a custom field using the pre-publish event.  The performance of the macro was quite quick for master project files and standalone project files up until one of the recent CU updates. Following the update, execution for standalone files remained the same while the performance on master files crawled to a halt.  In reviewing the execution of the macro as it operated on subproject tasks, we noticed that it now was performing project calculations as each task value was set and that this was the reason for the sudden increase in execution time.  The program logic is the same and uses the Application.Calculation = pjManual to disable calculation and works for standalone projects but doesn't appear to work anymore for master project files.

Given the significant performance impact for those master project files (+30 minutes), is there an alternative way to disable calculation for master project files when setting subproject task-level information?
