How to work with .ascx files??

Hello Guys,

I have a doubt about .ascx and .asmx  files.. What are they used for ?? Please dont post any definitions but only real time example and how can we work with it.. Any simple beginners tutorial link or notes...

If possible with some live examples..

ascx file is a user control. User control is a reusable component to be used within the project. It can be placed directly by dragging and dropping to an asp.net page.

asmx file is for web services. Web services are mechanism to commnunicate within 2 objects even if they are connected via internet. Web services are consumed by applications and they provide XML format data which can be used accordingly.
