  • Dear all,

    iam working in vb.net application. the application target to collect data from the user and then save it to the database. the problem is, when the user can not connect to my database server. i want data to be saved localy safely. and each time the application is start, it will try to connect to the database server and save the data to the server.

    your help is highly appreciated

  • You didn't mentioned what type of database you are working with but it sounds like you want something like SQL Server replication:

  • If your application uses a DataSet, you may be able to get away with simply using WriteXml to persist the DataSet locally (and ReadXml to retrieve it) when you can't connect to the database server.  That'll be a lot simpler than replication.  (Though replication may well be the right answer, too; this is a pretty broad problem space you're asking about.)
