Is it possible to share same cloud (roaming) app data for many app instances & app users?

    Question

  • How to provide access for app's common data & settings for all users of one app downloaded from the Windows Store?

For example, to access common data in the team game where all gamers install one app requiring common data access.

Or for some business collaboration solution processing common data.

Indexed "key-value" commonly accessible roaming app data could be a good solution.

I suppose there is no method to provide access to any common data for many users of the one Windows app...

  • Hi Victor,

Each app can read only its own data. Apps cannot directly share data.

A possible solution might be you save the configuration file to a share folder by FileSavePicker. And the other users load it by FileOpenPicker.

  • Typically you would keep such shared data in a cloud based service such as Windows Azure Mobile Services.
