Collation - Japanese and French RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

    I got a problem with the database collation, I would like to store French and Japanese characters.

    For example:

    I try to insert it:
    INSERT INTO dbo.test(fr, jp) VALUES ('français é è', '日本語')

    See below the result I get for the different following collations:

    Japanese_CS_AS_KS_WS, Japanese_Unicode_CS_AS_KS_WS, Japanese_Unicode_CS_AI_KS_WS

    ->> francais e e    日本語

    Latin1_General_CS_AS_KS_WS, French_CS_AS_KS_WS, French_100_CS_AS_KS_WS, French_CS_AS_KS_WS, French_BIN2, SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_CS_AS

    ->> français é è    ???

    I will really appreciate if someone could help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards
