.gif or .png? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everybody,

my first post, i would say: Hello and nice to meet you all!^^

The time, before I`ve read about silverlight, i just worked with Flash and Action Script. But I saw many samples, code examples and the video tutorial. Now I am really interested in learning silverlight and the work with it.

With Flash, I made the experience that png have the best quality for interfaces or animations. And whats about Silverlight? Does everyone got experiences about quality and filesize in Silverlight?

    Thx for attention,

    Oliver

  • Hi Oliver,

Welcome to the party!  The Image element in Silverlight has support for .png and JPEG files.  There is currently no support for .gif files.  Personally, I prefer .png files because of their built-in support for transparency.
