Cannot add Custom Domain to CDN with Azure Storage Static Website

Question
-
I have created a storage account and enabled Static website.
I want to add my custom domain to the website so I created a CDN profile and Endpoint. At my hosting provider (name.com) I changed the CNAME record to point to the new CDN Endpoint. I waited half an hour.
In PowerShell when running Resolve-DnsName of my custom domain, it returns the correct URL of the endpoint.
However, I cannot add the domain in the Custom Domains section of the Endpoint. I get an error when I type in my domain name in the Custom hostname field:
We couldn't find a DNS record for '{mycustomdomain}' that points to '{mycdnendpoint}.azureedge.net'. Before you can associate a domain with this CDN endpoint, you need to create a CNAME record with your DNS provider for {mycustomdomain} that points to '{mycdnendpoint}.azureedge.net'.
Clearly though, PowerShell resolves it, and I also checked with an online DNS checker.
