  • I don't think you can register that version any more (it is very old). I suggest you download and install Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition. It is free for individuals and small companies.

If you can register it then you will need to search for how to do that. This forum is for the Visual Basic Language. Not a forum for how to register Microsoft products. I don't know what forum would be for questions regarding registering Microsoft products. And the Visual Studio general questions forum would not be for asking questions regarding registering Visual Basic 2008.

Also Visual Basic 2008 is seven years old which means there's 7 years of new capabilities that you will probably not be able to use with it. Although people constantly ask about it and want to use it for some unknown reason. Perhaps they are required to for school and maybe their schools courses are running way behind the times as possibly their course instructors don't stay up to date on what they should be teaching. Who knows.

This might be a more appropriate forum in which to ask:

    Visual Studio Setup and Installation

  • @evan nsepuka,

Visual Basics 2008 is no longer supported. You may need to upgrade your version to higher versions or use the old VB 2008 Express ISO(it does not need to be registered)go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=104679

    Best regards,

  • There is a possible workaround. The orphan links below appear to still work to allow you to download an ISO containing all VS 2008 Express editions.

I have read comments that the VS 2008 Express editions installed from the ISO do not require registration. You can still get the ISO here:
