MS Access 2013:Creating a Macro to open a Form for entering data - Problem: The form name 'Customers Form' is misspelled or refers to a form that that doesn't exist? RRS feed

  • Hi all,

I am new in using MS Access 2013 and doing the creating a Macro in MS Access 2013.

From http://www.quackit.com/microsoft_access/microsoft_access_2013/tutorial/, I tried to do its "Create a Macro" tutorial example by doing the following steps: Step 1: The CREATE tab is selected from the Ribbon, click Macro. Step 2: Use the dropdown menu to setect your first action - choose OpenForm. Step 3: In the bottom pane, select the form name you wish to open - choose Customers Form. ( I typed in "Customers Form" in the "Form Name" box.) Step 4: Use the dropdown menu to select action - choose GoToRecord. In the Record field, choose the record you want to go to - choose New. Step 5: Click on the Save icon and enter a name for your macro. I entered "AutoExec_shcQuackitMacro" in the Macro Name box. Step 6: I clicked on "!" to run the Macro I just created.   I got the following error message: The form name 'Custermers Form' is misspelled or refers to a form that doesn't exist.   I have no ideas what I did wrong in this project.  Please kindly help, advise and respond.

    Thanks in advance,

  • The form name should be the same as is listed in the Navigation Pane (hit F11 to open it).
