Setup for Failover Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Goal: Setup Failover Cluster for Print server with two Windows 2008 r2 servers

As per Microsoft Technet document "Failover Cluster Step-by-step guide: Configuring a Two-Node Print Server Failover Cluster"

    Prerequisite:

Created a cluster disk using the instructions on  VMWare's "Setup for Failover Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service" for ESX 4.1 located: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_mscs.pdf  page 27, AND ive been on two different customer support calls with Vmware to help me setup this raw disk mapping.

    Problem:

I ran the Failover Cluster Validation Report  for the cluster and I got an error message:

No disks were found on which to perform cluster validation tests.

In the list of disks found it reads Disk bus type does not support clustering. Disk is on the system bus. Disk partition style is RAW.
