Crystal Reports error when host application in Production RRS feed

  • Question

  • User-2048571045 posted

I have developed Crystal Reports in VS 2010 in my application.

My application runs fine in development on my pc.

The production environment for my application is a Windows Server 2008 R2 server.

My application runs fine but when I try to generate my crystal reports I get the following error message:

Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Anyone know what do I have to install on my server for Crystal Reports to run correctly on it?

    Thanks.

    Hello macca,

    Please kindly check:

    1. Please make sure CyrstalReportViewer and aspnetclient have been configured on your folder.
    2. Please kindly check your identity, it should run on local service.
    3. Give the permission to your folder.

If you have any problem with CR, you can host your CR with asphostcentral.com. They have good support in CR. Good luck

I believe you need to install CR 13 on your server,. If you dont install it, how can you expect your CR work? :)

    Do you mean CRforVS_13_0_1 or CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1 ?

    Thanks.

    I couldn't install CRforVS_13_0_1 as I don't have VS 2010 on the server.

I installed CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1 but I nowget teh following error:

Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    Any ideas?

    hi macca,

Based on teh error message, it seems that the crystal report version installed on your system does not match the crystal report version you used on your code. Please double check it so that you can sync the crystal report version for your site.

Besides, there are several requirements to run Crystal Report properly:

    1. Please make sure the CR version installed on the server matches the one you use on your application/website
    2. Please make sure that the assemblies of the CR installed on the server are referenced correctly on your web.config
    3. Please make sure you set the application pool of your application to operate under LOCAL SERVICE permission
    4. Please make sure FULL TRUST mode is enabled on your operating folder
    5. Please make sure crystalreportviewer and aspnet_client folders are copied to your operating folder.

I have been using Crystal Report for a while. I have also tried the latest Crystal Report for VS 2010 and initially, I experienced the problem like you do now. By following all the steps above, your CR will certainly work fine. Should you still have problems, you can consider hosting it withasphostcentral.com

    Thanks for the reply Necro.

I am going to install VS 2010 on the server and then add the CR fo VS2010 to the server as this is the version of CR that I have on my development environment.

I'll see how this goes first.
