Calculation Aborted - Memory Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Everyone,

I have a powerpivot excel file with two fact table with 130.000 rows each one, 10 calculated measures and various report (pivot tables and "cube value" reports). The file is more or less 20 MB.

I'm running this file on two different computers; in one of these, the calculation failed with the following error message (the pivot table update properly, only the cube value formulas go wrong)

ERROR - CALCULATION ABORTED: Memory error: Allocation failure : Not enough storage is available to process this command. .

      PC 1 PC 2
      Calc OK Calc Wrong
    Operating System Win7 Win7
    Cores 4 2
    Processors 64 bit 64 bit
    Ram 4 Gb 8 Gb

Do you have any suggestions to solve this problem?

    Thank you in advanced

  • Hi Silvia,

PowerPivot for Excel is an Add-In which uses a local version of Analysis Services (SSAS) to process data and make calculation to respond to user queries made using Excel 2010. The SSAS engine is loaded in-memory in the process of Excel, so please close other unnecessary services to have a try. Besides this, you can click this link about Memory Considerations about PowerPivot for Excel to follow some tips.

This is the same issue, you can click to get some reference http://powerpivot-info.com/post/455-powerpivot-memory-error--not-enough-storage
