Cannot uninstall Exchange 2003, even after following all tech net I can find... RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an older Exchange 2003 server that I need to remove Exchange from.  We have removed all of the associate mailboxes and have followed all of the technet articles, to the point of searching for exchange enabled users (on this server) and only find two mailboxes, both system attendant mailboxes.

You cannot remove them, nor access them, they are the system.  So... trying to remove exchange continues to prompt that you cannot remove exchange because there is one or more mail-enabled users on the system...

Anyone found a way around this without the really ugly hard delete and registry hacks to uninstall it?  (Trying for a clean AD without all the junk left behind).

    Any help is appreciated...
