how to reduce size of a pdf?

Hi,

   I want to create an app in through which I want to reduce the pdf file size. Can any one tell me how I can do that? Please provide me any information regarding it.

   I am creaing app for window 8. I just want to select a pdf from local and my code should reduce its size. Is there any way to achieve it.
