Cannot Start With Manifest RRS feed

  • Question

  • After starting a DssHost, my service appears in the control panel, but the
option to select a manifest is greyed out. I have a manifest in the same
directory as the project, though that directory is not contained within
C:\Microsoft Robotics Studio (1.0)\. What could be the reasons for this?
Some of my services have the option to start with manifest, and some do not. All are within the same solution file (but different projects).

  • correct, we currently, to keep things simple for the runtime (which looks for services, manifests etc) we expect manifests to be within our root install directory. But that is a limitation of only the control panel and what it displays. DssHost can load a manifest from anywhere, you just need to specify the correct path in its command line

  • Is there a way to remotely (from a different DSS node) load a local manifest programmatically?

    Thanks.
