Effectively store data in Table Storage ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are evaluating of moving from SQL server to Azure tables and I was wondering what is the best way to store the below kind of data.

    Example:

    1)

ListA --> Language --> Section A --> Sub-Section A --> Item A (Name, description, Price, Image); Can have tags like Cotton, Wool and so on. Also can have sizes S, M and Large and the Price can be different for different sizes.

     2)

List B --> Language --> Section B ---> Item B (name, description, Price, Image); No, tags. Only sizes S,M,L and same price for all the sizes.

The above works in SQL and we are evaluating if it makes sense to move the above to Azure DB.

We were thinking on having a table where ListA-Language (makes Partition Key)

Now, the question arises what is the best way to do Row Key.

Also, how to add tags and different sizes and different prices for all of them ?

Then when querying, what is the best mechanism to retrieve all the results ?

    Thanks for all the help.
