HTTP Request Time Out Error: ReportViewer Control RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using SSRS for reporting solution in our application.

In order to display report, Report viewer control is used in a web page.

Report is getting generated for small report data properly, but when we try to generate report for large data then we are getting HTTP Request Time out error.

However, when executionTimeout property in webconfig was increased (which is set to default 110 sec), this error was resolved. But, as this webconfig is shared by many applications, we are not advised to change the executiomtimeout property in webconfig. We tried to set the executiomtimeout in webconfig using location tag to make it specific to the application. However,  the Report Viewer does not seem to take the new timeout. It takes the default timeout value. We also tried using Server.ScriptTimeout property for the webpage in which report is displayed, but this is also not working.

Now, whenever user views report with large data, Request timeout error is coming.

Is there any solution by which we can increase the http time out property for the ReportViewer Control.

Your inputs will be of great help.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Kiran Kirdat
