When web service returns a typed dataset, it modifies the nullable fields in dataset. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,
I have designed and implemented a set of web services that return some typed datasets. In those typed datasets, some fields are nullable and I ahve assigned values to them so that in case the value in database is null, it does not throw exceptions. That works perfect when I reference the typed dataset. But as soon as I publish my services and client connects to web service and then tries to use the version of dataset exposes by the webservice, all those values change to null and throws exceptions. Seems that when the web service proxy is being generated, it ignores those values i have set to be replaced in dataset by <DBNULL> values. Anyone has any idea what is going on?
    Cheers,
    Sina
