Deployment: target folder

    Question

  • Hi,

when I run an app from VS, the deploy folder is constructed by AppsFolder\AppName+"VS.Configuration.Platform.Publisher" (or I think it is).

Is there a way to change that, I mean, the part "VS.Configuration.Platform.Publisher"?

     Thanks

  • Hi George,

Is there a specific scenario in which you would want to change the default location?

    Thanks

  • Yes, there is. I am a game developer, and I want to always have the same destination folder, so my data deployment tools know where to find the app, in any given computer, under any configuration.

  • Is this only for a development or test environment where you are attempting to use data deployment tools? Reason I ask for clarification is this would not be the way to distribute content for an app obtained from the Store.

  • Yeah, this will be only used in a development environment.
