How to refer a COM dll to a metro style application ? RRS feed

  • Hi,

       How to refer Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook (Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Object Library) to my metro style application javascript.

     (or) how can I use classes of  Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook  in my metro apps.

    It doesn't stand by the feature you mentioned, we can only reference WinRT components.

  • Hi,

    I am afraid not. A Metro application cannot interact with a desktop application. Even a web service won’t work, because on a normal user’s computer, a Metro application is not allowed to access localhost.

    However, you can always create a desktop application, Metro is not meant to replace desktop.
