DirectSound no output on some PC's with Win10 / 1803 RRS feed

• Question

• Hello, everyone, I'm working in an Austrian Company

since April 2018 Windows 10 update (per application sound preferences) on some customers
PC's we experience strange behavior of a native application with DirectX Sound
Output. The Sound volume of the application is set to Zero by Windows. If the
Folder where the application is started from is renamed (one character changed)
then it works as expected.

It seems that the Default volume of the dx application is (was) somewhere set to Zero. I can change Volume Settings when
application is running, then it works, but setting isn't persistent, on application Exit I can see that Volume is set to Zero again.

Do someone know how this Default volume level is generated for dx Sound applications? What goes wrong? Is it saved somewhere? How can I find the reason.

The Customer PC is a HP 240 G6 Notebook

Help would be very appreciated,
