Connect two PC in Networking RRS feed

  • Hi All.....

    I want to connect two PC with network cable.

    and also want to share files among them.

    but my question is......

    in one pc os is Windows XP and other pc OS is Windows 7 can it posssible with two diff os?

    Please Answer me.........

  • Yes the two systems can communicate with each other (share files, Remote Desktop, etc), with the assumption that you have exceptions in any firewall that is running on the machines, the network is set up correctly, the Remote Desktop policy is configured for lower security on the Win7 machines etc.

  • yeah it can be done ive done it with my set up and mine is wireless, you'll need to set your ip addresses so there a private network, just ping them in cmd to make sure there talking to each other, then just make a shared folder and make sure its shared to everyone with full read/write privalages, them map a network drive in my computer on both pc's and link the new network drive on both pc's to the folder you just made/shared and you should have a nice new shared drive, if you want to link it up to more pc's/laptops in your home you can
