Sideloading Windows 8.1 Apps on Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently upgraded a tablet which was running Windows 8.1. with Bing to Windows 10. I enabled the developer options.

However I am not able to Sideload one of my Windows 8.1 apps. I run on an elevated command:

    DISM /Online /Add-ProvisionedAppxPackage /PackagePath:MyApp_1.5.0.2_AnyCPU.appxbundle /skiplicense

    And get the error:

    Error: 0xc1570108

The package does not meet the requirement for provisioning to the target image.  For more information, see the help.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Any ideas what this means? I can provide the DISM log if required. Is it something to do with the version of Windows 10 - does it still need to be pro/enterprise to side load?

(Also I should point out that the tablet isn't joined to a domain - is that still a requirement?)
