near the total pages of the reports appears a Question-mark RRS feed

Answers

  • The question mark means that the total number of pages is not known but it is at least as many as is indicated by the number.  Newer versions of the report processing engine (SQL Server 2008 and higher or VS 2010 in local mode) do not fully process the report when rendering the first page.  This improves performance since calculating the total page count can be expensive and is not needed if you only view some of the pages.

You can get the old behavior by setting ReportViewer.PageCountMode to Actual.  Note that you will lose the performance benefit though.

  • ? shows the possability of a second page (intended or not)

Notice the left arrow is accessible, click it and you will see the "2nd" page.. Most likely created by some roll-over data from the first page.

  • How to disable this?

why is it not calculating the number of the total pages instead of the Question mark?

  • If the extra page is created because the 1st page goes past the report page margins then all you have to do is reduce the size a bit.

Maybe you could also include a snapshot of page 2?

  • Hi all,

I have a question regarding this,

If the answer given by Brian Hartman is right, then why the question mark is not seen for the reports which are generated by CRM. It is displaying page numbers correctly(without any question mark).

    Thanks,

    Gopi.
