How to give access to subscription information with azure RBAC ?

    Question

  • We want users to be able to see the costs associated to the ressources in a ressource group they have access to, but we couldn't find the right access for that. Only adminstator accounts have access to that (in the subscription details or in the portal.azure.com/#resource/subscriptions/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx/resourceGroups/resource-name/costs page.

We didn't find any built-in role that have that and no provider operation (by listing them with the cli command "azure provider operations show Microsoft.Resources/*" for example) that can be added to a custom role for that purpose.

How can we achieve this ?

Thank you in advance for your response.

  • We are planning to release a Billing Reader role that will address this scenario. This role is planned for the upcoming release.
