BizTalk Server 2009 Admin Console RRS feed

Answers

  • Hi Monika,

#1. If you are running BizTalk on Window sever 2008 R2, I would recommend you to install Service pack 1 from the below link. Your issue has been reported fixed by installing this pack.

    Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)

Till then you can click ignore this error and continue running. This error will not affect the functioning of admin console even a bit.

#2. You should also try restarting the server post getting all the approvals if required. You never know this could be an intermittent issue which just require a restart.

    Cheers!

  • This problem may occur when Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 3.0 is installed on the computer. MMC 3.0 has a new feature that tracks memory-related errors in snap-ins. Therefore, MMC 3.0 detects a memory-related error in the Group Policy Object Editor tool that had been previously undetected.

There is also a hotfix available for this Error message when you use MMC 3.0: "MMC has detected error in a snap-in"

I would also suggest to check your Biz Talk Environment consistency by running BizTalk Message BoxViewer tool.

You can also look similar blog post Getting the error "MMC has detected an error in snap-in

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Have you tried  hotfix available for this Error message when you use MMC 3.0: "MMC has detected error in a snap-in" .

This error mainly occurs with MMC 3.0 installed on your Operating System . Its a bug which is rectified by Microsoft in above hotfix.

You may also try this by removing any windows update which you have done latest  you can see similar issue here receiving mmc.exe APPCRASH on Windows

  • The User has already mentioned that he is using biz talk 2009 which is not being supported by Windows Server 2008R2 . Therefore path mentioned above cannot be applied on Biz Talk machines.

    Thanks

  • FYI, though officially it is not supported but there people out there using BizTalk 2009 with Win 2008 R2.

Refer: BizTalk 2009 Installation and Configuration Guide - Production Build v1.3

And refer the conversation @ BizTalk 2009 with Windows 2008 R2

I would request you to leave it to the user to decide whether my reply is suitable for her or not. If the lady is not running the configuration I have mentioned she will reply accordingly.

    Cheers!

  • Yes I know BizTalk 2009 with Win 2008 is no more supported by Microsoft. We have restarted server and issue got fixed. Now I am able to access admin console. I  observed server for week and got below message twice. Sorry it is not yet decided to migrate application.

  • Bingo! Just what I have mentioned in my post above..

Monika, I recommend to get applications migrated to stable and microsoft recommended/supported infrastructure to avoid such unforeseen issues.

Taking downtime and getting the server re-start every time  will only impact your client business.
