SDL regex Fuzzer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any possibility that the SDL Regex Fuzzer can be updated to support reading in a file of regex patterns and scanning them all?  Supporting just one item at a time is very combersome when working on a large project.

  • We will caution against reusing components or (re)implementing in some fashion where future updates might require significant rework. We will keep this thread posted on when this enhancement gets scheduled.

  • There has been other feedback around how to enable this tool to be run across multiple regular expressions. The most likely approach would be to allow for automation by providing a command-line interface and a documented output format. This enhancement has been logged and will be considered in a future feature release of the tool.

  • Are there any licensing issues if a solution were to use the Regex Fuzzer Engine DLL to automate this? Obviously, not a commercial type of a solution.
