  • What data in your phone are you trying to download?  Contacts? Files? Your calendar?

What is the application into which you need to copy this data?

It takes all the running you can do to stay in one place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must try to run at least twice as fast as that.

  • Sir I want to retrieve contacts, call logs, SMS, MMS and files stored in windows mobile. I tried inthehand libraries,

but all examples are windows mobile application (run in windows mobile), but I want to create .NET application (either C# or VB.NET)

for my PC that show all data which is in my windows mobile. Just like PC suit application.

  • That's a big question, especially for a newcomer. I may give you some pointers, but more are to be learned.

The following page shows you a means to make communication between the desktop and the device via the Smart Device Connectivity API:

Walkthrough: Exchanging Data between Desktop and Device Applications
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb546002.aspx

A smart device application is deployed to the device, collects the data and send back to the desktop.

I found a code sample namely "Remote Tool for Smart Devices" which may help.

As how to read SMS, contacts, etc. from a smart device application, you can search in smart device forums or grab a beginners' book such as "Microsoft Mobile Development Handbook".

By the way, I would suggest that you use a more informative title for your question. A title like "please help!" just does not help.

  • Thanks for your response !

I dump all data of my windows mobile into xml file, this is done by windows mobile application which I developed using vb.NET

The another question is that, how do I read/extract this xml file from my windows mobile into PC programatically and how do I

    synchronize this ?

  • Take a look at the OpenNETCF Desktop Communication Library, which is a managed wrapper over RAPI. With RAPI you can get the last modified time of a file, then if it is changed you can copy it from the device to PC.

  • Thanks again !

I fetch contacts only, how do I fetch call logs, inbox and outbox sms ?

Is there is any way to access this so that I can dump it into xml file and further into my PC.
