  • Hey im trying to build an arcade machine from scratch and wanted to be able to play time crisis well while shopping around for light guns and seeing how expensive they are i thought could i use the kinect to act like a light gun and step pedal in the time crisis machine?

  • Did you see the light sabre demo? You get the full skeleton but only a single point for the hand, so to get direction you pretty much use the vector between the elbow and hand. If you design the game around a p90 or something I think it will work well, while a pistol which can be pivoted from the wrist will seem poor.

    Do you have a emulator or something for Time Crisis?

  • Do a search for "youtube wow kinect". You can certainly control a game. The program used for that video uses OpenNI/Nite rather than the MS Kinect SDK. They do not play nicely together, but you can uninstall/reinstall to switch back and forth. That would let you try out FAAST to get an idea of what's possible using gestures.
