Single SQL Connection which covers all users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

we are currently investigating moving our rather large ERP to a .net architecture.

we have been informed by our current outsourced partner that it is best practice to have one sql connection that all users fall under.

i cant find any information regarding this practice and was hoping for some clarification on it

    many thanks

  • I have one suggestion, find another outsource partner.

That is an absolutely false statement.  If you want to fail an audit, ANY audit, have everyone accessing a system sharing the same login credentials.  Everyone accessing a system shoudl have their own credentials so that you can restrict access based on user role as well as provide an audit trail for a specific user if necessary.
